GARY ROBERTS
FIRE CHIEF FOR THE CACHE COUNTY FIRE DISTRICT
Chief Gary Roberts came to the Cache County Fire
District September 1, 2005 from the Uintah County Fire Marshal’s Office.
Before working in the Uintah Basin, he was a volunteer firefighter with
Smithfield Fire and EMS where he served as a firefighter/EMT-I, Station
Secretary, and Lieutenant.
His initial introduction to the Fire District came when Chief Ted
McArthur (ret.) asked him to work as a firefighter/EMT with Paradise
Fire and Rescue.
His previous experience also includes working for the U.S. Forest
Service as a wildland firefighter and also participating with Station #3
(Ovid) as part of the Bear Lake Volunteer Fire Department.
Chief Roberts brings many years of experience in the fire service along
with his skills in leadership, communications, training, and suppression
operations.
His forward-looking goals for Cache County Fire District are many and
include:
* Improving interdepartmental communication between the member
departments of the Fire District.
* Strengthening internal district and department management by
maintaining a positive environment,
providing quality service,
seeking change and improvement for the future.
* Developing collaborative working relationships with neighboring
fire departments and districts.
* Building upon Cache County Fire District’s internal and external
customer service efforts.
* Overseeing and guiding the evolution of the Cache County Fire
District’s mission as it moves into the
future.
* Continue to work with our sister agency in EMS (Cache County
EMS) to provide a better experience for
all the district members as
well as the general public whom we serve.
Chief Roberts is a former Fire Marshal and Director of Emergency
Management for Uintah County.
He also has served as:
* Fire Chief for the Naples City Fire Department
* EMT with Gold Cross’ Eastern Utah Division
* Lieutenant, Secretary and firefighter/EMT with Smithfield
Fire and EMS
* Firefighter/EMT for Paradise Fire and Rescue
* Firefighter with Bear Lake County Idaho Fire Department
* Wildland firefighter with the Caribou-Targhee Regulars.
He has earned an Associates Degree in Applied Science in Fire Science
from Utah Valley State College and graduated with honors.
Chief Roberts currently holds the following certifications in addition
to his collegiate education:

Chief Roberts was born in Jerome, Idaho, moved, and was raised in the
beautiful Bear Lake Valley. He graduated from Bear Lake High School in
1991 and then served a mission
for the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints in the Florida
Jacksonville Mission. He currently resides in Nibley with his wife
Marci and his two wonderful children, Melissa and Dallin. |
